Minnesota Secure Choice Retirement Program

This program is set to start in the first quarter of 2026. Employers with 5 or more employees who do not offer employees some sort of retirement plan option are required to enroll in this program. Employers will be required to inform their employees that they can choose to defer some of their paycheck to this program which will feature a Roth IRA option. Employers will not be required to contribute any funds. Employers will be required to remit the funds to the Service Provider (TBD) on behalf of the electing employees.
